Today I was learning to use Google Voice Search.

I enjoyed using Google Voice Search to find out to facts about Captain Cook.

I found it challenging to put an image on Google slides.

Next time I would change how I speak to the microphone.

Ag Day

Today I was learning to put an image on a google drawing and change the writing to make it clear.
I enjoyed writing the story because it reminds me of the fun day.
I found it challenging to find a colour of writing that would be easy to see.

What Is Media

Today I was learning what is media and what is the truth and what is a lie.

I enjoyed using shapes and colours.

I found it challenging to use remove background because it was different to the last time I used it.

Next time I would change How I took my photo and how big my book is.

Kon-Tiki

Thor  Heyerdahl wanted to prove that the early settlers could have traveled from Peru to the Polynesian Islands. Thor Heyerdahl made a Kon-Tiki. It was named after the Peru god. It was made of  9 balsa logs lashed together with hemp rope. It took 101 days to complete the great challenge.  He wanted to prove all the people wrong who had said that he was stupid and foolish to think that the settler could have done that.This is my raft down below I don't think my Kon-Tiki would stand a chance in the big Pacific Ocean.

Seeking Help

Today I was learning I was learning to take a screen shot and to replace an image.
I enjoyed Using word art to make cool colours. I liked it when I took my photo.
I found it challenging to find a back ground colour so you could see the words
My digital learning object shows that I can use arrow ad connect them to the pupil dots. It shows that I can replace a image.
Next time I would change the colours and the picture of me. I would also use call outs instead of shapes.

Netiquette

Today I was learning what to do online and what not to do online.

I enjoyed using word art and making real cool colours.

I found it challenging to nothing I was real independent ad id it all by myself.

My digital learning object shows Zippy say one DO online and one DON'T online.

Next time I would change the colours and the fount of my writing. I would try to put more detail in my charter .

Stop

I enjoyed the challenge of the hole thing but I particularly enjoyed doing the speech marks for the kid.

I found it challenging to to ungroup. My photo Because I was clicking on the wrong thing. I also found drawing the pictures was hard because the explore tool did not all ways have the thing I wanted.

Animation Action

Today I was learning how to make an animation  on slides.

I enjoyed moving my character around, because he looks like a robot .

I found it challenging to get a medal that was transparent but as you can see I persevered and got it.

My digital learning object shows Zippy my character  running round a race course and coming first. No wonder he's called Zippy.

Next time I would change the way I move him.

Guy Fawkes

Lots of English people were treated badly because of their religion. They had had enough of King Charles 1 , and they made a plan. Guy Fawkes was part of a group of seven that planned to blow up the Houses of Parliament. On the 5th of November there was going to be a meeting with the King and the Queen and their oldest son. But one of the men planning to blow up  Parliament remembered that his friend would be in the houses at the time when Guy was to light the gunpowder. So he wrote a letter to his friend but did not sign his name. Then he showed the letter to the king. The King knew what “the sudden  blow”, was and sent servants to the suler where they found Guy Fawkes guarding the gunpowder.  He was tortured but he was a brave man and did not betray his friends. In 1605 Guy dyed by hanging. Now on the 5th of November there are often bonfires and fireworks to celebrate the failure of a plan to blow up parliament.       

Book Report

Notebook of Doom by Troy Gummings.

This week I have being reading a book about 3 kids whose principal is a monster! They are trying to stop her but she is sneaky and hard to trap.

 I chose this book because the name of the book appealed to me. One of the 3 kids can turn into a monster  he has blue ears and is really strong. I am glad your principal and my principal monsters or are they. I like this book because there is plenty of action.

Action selfie

The Greeks cut down 50 big pine trees and by evening the great horse was ready.
35 of the Greeks best soldiers  hid inside the horse.Then the rest of the men sailed behind a small island.The Trojans brought the horse into the town. They partied on the horse That night the other warriors on the boat crept to the gates. The people in the horse opened the gates the Greeks stormed the town. It was a amazing victory for the Greeks.

Sceensastify

Today I was learning to use screencastify and embed it on my blog.
I enjoyed recording myself and writing my poem because I like writing poems.
I found it challenging to write the the poem. Because their were only a few words that I could use.

Next time I would change my poem.

Action selfie

To day I was learning  to take a action selfie and put it on a background. I also had to write what I like doing in Matawai.
I enjoyed taking photos because it stretched me out and made me look quite funny.I looked like a mythical creature.
I found it challenging to embed the slides and putt a back ground on.
My digital object shows that I  can take a pitcher and embed a set of slides. I can take a action selfie and put a back ground with it.
Next time I wold change the set up of my pitcher I would also change the move and action that I do.

We copped some sentences and words to write our own stores.
The hungry killer moves in. Down the narrow burrow. 
The mice run around like chickens with no head,while the taipan reels in its  prey. Suddenly it launches forward to inject its lethal medicine. Repeatedly striking. One by one knocking them off. What used to be a peaceful home is now a murder scene. The taipan’s glossy scales slither over the remains.
   

Book report

I like reading and I wrote a  book report about the book Tom Gates.

On the shortest day of the year we planted garlic for Matariki. First we turned and tumbled up the soil. Then we broke open the white onion like bulbs and peeled out the small white cloves. When you plant garlic it needs to be in a sunny place. The pointy end facing upwards. The holes that we made for the garlic were about 4-5 centimeters deep. Can't wait to  see how they grow and collect them.

Plotagon With Tonui Collab

On the 17th of June the Tonui Collab came to teach us how to create scenes on a programme called Plotagon. First we got into groups of 2. We needed to make scene that would show the world how to save the ocean. We had to create our partner and put them in the scene. My scene was a deserted land with a shark swimming around it.

Wolf Poem

Were learning to write a poem with our animal facts                                                                      Playful wolfs roll in snow{Its}vampire like canines glisten in the sun.There tails like fluffy clouds. Wolfs  in the cold Alaska streams catching fast sliver fish.                                                  

Beaut Ukes

On the 14th of June the Beaut Ukes played at the War Memorial Theatre. It was the first time for all of us. When I stepped on to the stage I was very nervous. Our first song was Do Your Ears Hang Low then we played Singing In The Rain , On My Ukulele and Michael Finnegan

We are the Beaut Ukes. We are new to the ukulele. We are performing at the War Memorial Theatre on the 14th of June we are doing 2 strum alongs and one song.

My name is James I a year 4. I love dogs and have my own one. Its name is Jed. My favourite sport is rugby. I am in room 3 at Matawai School. My favourite subject is maths. I live on a farm with my two brothers and mum and Dad. I love farming and motorbikes. I want  to be a farmer when I grow up.
